Wayne Smith is a 39 yr old waterfowl and upland hunter from Central New Jersey. A Full Time Police Officer for the Port Authority Police of NY and NJ and a graduate of West Virginia University with a BS in Wildlands Management. After college he acquired a full time position as a Park Ranger and soon after became a Deputy Conservation Officer with NJ Fish and Wildlife. His love for the outdoors caused him to follow a professional career that fostered this passion.
In addition to Pro-Staffing with Call Coozy, Wayne is a Field Staffer with Buck Gardner Calls and a Pro-Staffer with Storm Outfitters in New Jersey. His wife of fifteen years and two daughters, Taylor and Carly have always supported his passion for waterfowling.
Growing up, his father would spend time with him and his brother mostly fishing offshore. Wayne's father was an avid duck hunter growing up and had a big influence on his love for the outdoors and hunting with many stories of great duck hunts on the Raritan Bay.
Deer hunting became his first passion but was soon taken over when he got his first upland dog- Casey. Training and quail hunting with his upland pointer became an obsession. Soon followed waterfowling, an addiction. Now his dog Drake, a black lab, takes the stage and has become the focus of most of his attention in the field.
When not at waterfowling shows, Wayne spends most of his off time Canada Goose Hunting the soy bean and winter wheat fields, Duck Hunting flooded cranberry bogs and Snow Goose hunting in the early spring with his close friends. |
